Day 1. Arles, Embark Ship.
Enjoy a Welcome Reception.
Seven Night Stay: an Aria River Ship.
Day 2. Arles.
Tour the castle ruins in Les Baux-de-
Provence then visit an olive mill. Alternatively,
join a local guide for a sightseeing tour of
Arles. The afternoon is yours at leisure.
Day 3. Avignon.
A guided tour of Avignon today takes you to
the Palace of the Popes. Then, travel to the
Pont du Gard, a spectacular 50-metre-high
Day 4. Viviers, Grignan.
Join a truffle farmer and his dogs to
head out in search of the rare delicacy.
Next, journey to Grignan Castle for a
tour, followed by a Cocktail Reception
during which you’ll enjoy a tasting of local
delicacies. Re-board your ship and continue
cruising through the French countryside.
Day 5. Tournon, Vienne.
Arrive in Tournon and perhaps experience
the natural beauty of the Ardèche Mountains
on a rail journey aboard the historic Ardèche
Steam Train. Or, visit Eden Park Garden and
be captivated by views of Tournon with the
river stretching out below. Later, cruise to
Vienne for time at leisure this evening.
Day 6. Belleville, Beaujolais Region.
Today in the Beaujolais region, perhaps
explore the natural area known as The Dombes,
taste local produce at a farm, then explore
Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne. Or perhaps visit
the hilltop village of Oingt, then head to a
winery for a tour and tasting. This evening,
indulge in a decadent gourmet feast at
L’Abbaye de Collonges, a restaurant owned
by Michelin-starred chef, Paul Bocuse.
Day 7. Lyon.
In the gastronomic centre of France,
Lyon, you may wish to take a city tour, then
learn all about the city’s silk trade with a visit
to a local silk workshop in the heart of the
Croix-Rousse quarter. Alternatively, enjoy a
guided culinary walk, taking in one of Lyon’s
incredible fresh food markets and stopping
by local artisan producers.
